Civility is the key. Conversations should be civil. No abuse, no SHOUTING, no haranguing of another person just because they don’t share a point of view.
The forum is not a space for sales pitches, company promotions or repetitious statements of known ideological positions.
It is a space for presentation of an argument or a point of view and expression of strong opinions.
At its best, the forum will work as a place to post new and useful information and ideas. Maybe it will turn up ideas that will help the uranium and nuclear industries work better to provide the world with a useful energy solution.
Of course, the Australian Uranium Association owns this site and will review all proposed posts before they are permitted to appear. The AUA forum administrators will be the sole and final decision-makers on what is posted and what is not.
How well we make these decisions will be for forum users to judge. If we’re too restrictive, the forum will be bland and under-used. If we’re too permissive, too many users will stay away for fear of being unjustifiably attacked or ridiculed.
We want the forum to be lively and to stimulate thought and discussion. We want it to contribute to the AUA’s and the public’s understanding of people’s views about the nuclear fuel cycle.
So here are some rules that we’ll apply to try to keep things interesting and civil. We will reject and immediately delete posts which:
- Are clearly defamatory;
- Contain abuse or which insult another person, whether that person is a contributor to the forum or not;
- Are indecent or contain obscenities;
- Breach a person’s rights to privacy;
- Vilify or disparage a person or group of people on grounds of race, religion, gender or sexuality;
- Contain clear or provable lies, misrepresentations or demonstrable errors;
- Contain unsubstantiated allegations about an individual’s or a company’s actions or behaviour;
- Misrepresent the identity of the contributor;
- Are advertising or sales promotion material;
- Include information likely to breach Australian Stock Exchange disclosure rules.
At our discretion, the AUA may choose to explain to a hopeful ‘poster’ why a contribution has been rejected. We may choose to offer an opportunity to re-work the post and submit it again. Or we may not.
